Kılıçdaroğlu's CHP Central Executive Committee meets with 'expulsion' on the agenda

The CHP Central Executive Committee (MYK), led by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who returned to the chairmanship following a court decision, will meet today at 1:00 PM. In addition to recent developments, expulsion files and new expulsion requests are on the party leadership's agenda.

Party officials stated that the crisis surrounding yesterday's group meeting would be evaluated in all its aspects, noting that one of the most important topics of the meeting would be expulsions. Officials commented, "Our priority will be the parliamentary group. The MYK has the authority to directly refer deputies to disciplinary proceedings."

SPOKE AT HEADQUARTERS INSTEAD OF GROUP MEETING

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu had previously announced that he would speak at the CHP Group Meeting. However, following developments throughout the day, he called the deputies and party members who came to support him to the CHP Headquarters.

Making statements there, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "I would be dishonorable if I do not hold those who brought this absolute nullity lawsuit as a plague upon this party accountable."

Kılıçdaroğlu further stated, "Whoever is involved in this business, whoever hoped for gain from filth, whoever took money in the corners of nightclubs, we will say goodbye to them."

THIRD MYK MEETING IN EIGHT DAYS

After his contacts at the Headquarters, Kılıçdaroğlu met with his staff and called the MYK to meet again.

Kılıçdaroğlu, who determined the MYK members on June 2 following the appellate court decision, held the first meeting on the same day. The second meeting was held on June 5. With today's meeting, the MYK will have met for the third time in eight days.

PAST EXPULSIONS ALSO ON THE TABLE

Both the political tension experienced in recent days and the expulsion processes are expected to be evaluated in detail at the MYK meeting.

It was learned that the letter sent by the High Disciplinary Board to the MYK, which includes the request that all expulsions carried out after November 4-5, 2023, be considered null and void, will also be discussed at the meeting.

In addition, the initiation of new expulsion processes against some individuals whom the party leadership describes as "members who have committed party crimes" will also come to the agenda.

Stating that disciplinary actions, including expulsion, are being evaluated regarding some individuals involved in the arguments in front of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, officials asked, "How will someone who calls their chairman a 'traitor' remain in this party?"

NEW EXPULSION REQUESTS TO BE EVALUATED

Party officials state that they are handling the process in the CHP under two separate headings. The first of these is the ongoing lawsuits regarding mayors, while the second consists of the absolute nullity lawsuit and various allegations against the party.

Stating that priority in the expulsion process will be given to the parliamentary group, officials commented, "Our priority will be the parliamentary group."

Arguing that the MYK has the authority to directly refer deputies to the High Disciplinary Board with a request for expulsion, officials responded to views that this authority lies with the Party Assembly by saying, "Our interpretations on that matter are different."

PARTY ASSEMBLY TO MEET FOR THE FIRST TIME

On the other hand, the members of the Party Assembly elected at the 37th Ordinary Congress of the CHP, who returned to their duties following the absolute nullity decision, will also come together for the first time under the chairmanship of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

The meeting, which will also be attended by names close to CHP's Elected Chairman Özgür Özel, is planned to be held at the CHP Headquarters on Thursday, June 11.
