CHP's Aygun protests in Parliament with 'dried dung': Livestock farming is finished
CHP Tekirdağ Deputy İlhami Özcan Aygun attended the Planning and Budget Committee meeting, where the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's 2025 budget was discussed, with a cup of coffee, milk, and dried dung to highlight the problems in the livestock sector, stating, "There are no animals left in the villages. The smell of dried dung is gone. Livestock farming is finished."
The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Planning and Budget Committee convened under the chairmanship of Committee Chair and AKP Samsun Deputy Mehmet Muş.
The 2025 budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry was discussed in the committee. Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı gave a presentation to the deputies regarding his ministry's budget.
While Minister Yumaklı was presenting, CHP Niğde Deputy Ömer Fethi Gürer reacted by saying, "Neither the producer is protected, nor is the consumer protected."
CHP Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba reacted to AKP deputies over wheat and barley prices, asking, "Where do you live?"
According to ANKA's report, CHP Tekirdağ Deputy İlhami Özcan Aygun also attended the committee meeting with a cup of coffee, milk, and dried dung.
Aygun reacted by saying, "A coffee is 120 TL. Is this justice? The farmer will produce 1 liter of milk, and with the premium, it is 13 liras. Mr. Minister, they made the premium 1 lira just yesterday. There are no animals left in the villages. The smell of dried dung is gone. Livestock farming is finished. I had a hard time finding this. I looked in so many places. There are no animals left in the villages."
