CHP's Emir reacts to AKP's Tayyar on 'leaks will be investigated': 'Fails the sincerity test'

In a statement on his social media account X, Şamil Tayyar argued that the publication of obscene images not directly related to a crime is neither legal nor ethical.

Stating that this situation turns the process into a tabloid affair, Tayyar reported that he had conveyed his concerns on the matter to Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek.

Tayyar included the following statements in his post:

"I have persistently avoided including obscene images or allegations from the beginning if they are not directly related to the crime. It is neither legal, nor humane, nor ethical. Furthermore, it turns the process into a tabloid affair and casts a shadow over corruption files. I conveyed this concern to our Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, and he said, 'You are absolutely right.' He stated that immoral posts would be addressed, that they would investigate the source of the leak, and that this would not be allowed. This is a sensitive stance; this is what should be done."

CHP's Emir reacts: 'Fails the sincerity test'

Responding to Tayyar's statement via his own X account, CHP's Murat Emir accused the ministry of remaining inactive regarding the leaks. Emphasizing that the images were leaked from the judicial repository under the protection of the state, Emir argued that the texts served to the media had been falsified.

Claiming that deliberate questions were asked during the prosecutor's interrogation regarding the late former Şehzadeler Mayor Gülşah Durbay, Emir included the following statements in his declaration:

"The promise of 'we will investigate' given to you by the minister unfortunately fails the sincerity test. For days, we have been asking, 'Who leaked those images from the mobile phones in the judicial repository, which were entrusted to the honor of the state, and for what purpose?' Why have you not lifted a finger until today regarding these immoral leaks?

On the other hand, in Özkan Yalım’s original and unaltered statement, it is clearly established that the prosecutor deliberately asked about our late mayor Gülşah Durbay, even though it had nothing to do with the file. Moreover, there are falsified texts served to the media.

If this conspiracy is to be brought to light, you can use the state power at your disposal to find the source of the leaks and those malicious questions within hours, and do what is necessary for the slanderer who is still walking around freely. Let's see if you are sincere!"
