CHP's new roadmap determined after 7-hour meeting: Against the coup attempt

CHP Spokesperson Zeynel Emre made statements regarding his party's new roadmap following the meeting held with Party Assembly members.

Announcing that they will take to the field on May 4, Emre said, "We will continue to fight with determination against the threat directed at us and, in essence, against the national will in the country, against the coup attempt."

Emre announced the decisions taken as follows:

"We will establish a new legal support and monitoring group. And we will provide legal guidance and reporting, and communicate this to our citizens. In the face of all these attacks, both the party officials and the party's voters and members will continue to fight with great determination, integrity, and courage against the threat directed at us and, in essence, against the national will in the country, against the coup attempt."

"After the last congress we held, a deputy chairmanship was established within the party management to ensure relations, negotiations, and communication with other parties. We attach importance to this for the period we are in because, rather than different views competing as they do in politics, we are in a period where the current government, which came to power through the popular vote, is resisting not to leave despite the popular vote. Therefore, it is important for those who protect the Republic in Turkey and for all political parties that believe in the existence of democracy to act together in an alliance, and we will be involved in some work within this scope."

"As the Republican People's Party, we are taking to the field. The Republican People's Party will begin field work in 81 provinces as of May 4. In this context, of course, our friends will carry out their duties in ongoing cases and in parliament on a rotation basis, but we, as Central Executive Board members, High Disciplinary Board members, Party Assembly members, and our friends in the presidential candidate office, will meet with our people in coordination with the provincial and district presidencies in the field and explain the realities of the country. We will share what we have experienced with them firsthand."

"We have 196,000 ballot box officials on duty. We have updated a significant portion of these 196,000. We have contacted 186,000 of them to serve again, and assignments have been made. Among these, 106,000 ballot box officials will actively participate in field work together with the friends assigned within their own ballot box field region. And we aim for this to continue until the next election. In other words, the Republican People's Party, with its hundreds of thousands of officials, will continue to exhibit the necessary work and effort for the next election environment in 81 provinces—and we will continue to strive for the election to come as soon as possible—and there, together with our ballot box officials and party officials, we will explain the facts to the true owner of the trust."
