Circular from Justice Minister Gürlek to 81 provinces: We will protect our children

In the circular sent to 175 Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices in 81 provinces under the signature of Minister Gürlek, it was requested that reports regarding obscene and criminal activities targeting children and youth be evaluated without delay.

The circular stated that reports regarding obscene and criminal activities targeting children and youth should be evaluated without delay, digital evidence should be collected immediately, and access blocking should be applied when necessary.

7-POINT INSTRUCTION

Making a statement on his social media account regarding the circular, Minister Gürlek expressed the following:

In line with the 2026–2035 Family and Population Decade vision set forth by our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we are determinedly continuing our fight to protect the family, our children, and our youth from all kinds of abuse, obscenity, crime, and harmful content. In this context, we sent a comprehensive letter to our 175 Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices in 81 provinces today.

We have requested from our Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices:

- That reports regarding obscene and criminal activities targeting children and youth be evaluated without delay

- That digital evidence be identified and secured immediately

- That content removal and access blocking measures be applied when necessary

- That provisions for organized crime be activated in case of suspicion of organized structures

- That a simultaneous financial investigation be conducted if there are indications that income is being generated from crime

- That protective measures to prevent secondary victimization of child victims be fully implemented

- That strong and continuous coordination be maintained with relevant institutions.

The best interests of our children are not open to debate for us. We will not tolerate any criminal organization that targets the institution of the family, the future of our youth, and our social order. We will resolutely fulfill the requirements of the rule of law in both digital spaces and the physical world. We will protect our family. We will protect our children. We will protect our future."
