Citizens in this hamlet of Yüksekova will not vote
Citizens living in the Çalımlı hamlet of Dilektaşı village in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari have announced that they will not cast their votes in this election.
Citizens living in the Çalımlı hamlet of Dilektaşı village, located in the Yüksekova district, have stated that they will not go to the polls in the March 31 local elections, citing a lack of sufficient services provided to their hamlet.
Citizens living in the Çalımlı hamlet, which has a population of 500 and 137 registered voters, have announced that they will boycott the local election.
Claiming that they do not receive services because they are a hamlet, the residents stated that they will not vote until services are provided to the hamlet and it attains village status.

"NONE OF OUR VOTERS WILL CAST A BALLOT"
Speaking on behalf of the hamlet residents, Adem Kahraman said, “In the current election, 137 voter registration cards have arrived, but we will not be voting. On election day, we will gather in front of the school and boycott the election. We will not vote until our conditions are met. Our conditions are not very heavy. Our hamlet is 7-8 kilometers away from other villages; we want our hamlet to be made into a village.”
“WE HAVE LIVED WITHOUT SERVICES FOR YEARS"
Hamit Doğan, a resident of the hamlet who stated that the problems in their area never end, said, “We have no water, no roads, and our electricity is constantly failing. Our phones do not have service. We don't just have one problem; we have many problems.
The state should help us. It should find a solution to our situation. Otherwise, we will be forced to abandon the village. We are human beings too. Our state should not only look after the citizens in the city.
It should look after us too. There is an election in 15 days; they want our votes, but we will not use them because no services have been provided to our hamlet. We have lived without services for years,” he said.
