Claim: Flashing lights distributed during the Soylu era are being recalled
Journalist İsmail Küçükkaya stated that Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has launched an investigation into the flashing lights (çakar) distributed during the term of former minister Süleyman Soylu, and announced that the distribution of new flashing lights has been halted.
The Ministry of Interior is recalling flashing lights that were irregularly distributed during the term of former minister Süleyman Soylu due to increasing complaints. While it is alleged that 2,500 people were issued these lights, an investigation has been launched following the rise in complaints, and the distribution of new ones has been halted.
Bringing the information to the agenda on the Yeni Bir Sabah program broadcast on Halk TV, journalist İsmail Küçükkaya said that, upon the instructions of Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, the irregularly distributed flashing lights will be collected.
"WE ARE HALTING THE DISTRIBUTION OF FLASHING LIGHTS"
Küçükkaya stated the following:
"A study is underway. I have confirmed it. Following Minister Yerlikaya's instructions, Minister Yerlikaya said, 'We are halting the distribution of flashing lights.' The investigation revealed that some individuals possessed these lights irregularly, despite not being entitled to them. These have started to be collected. The information I have obtained is that 2,500 people were granted the authority to use flashing lights during the Süleyman Soylu era. These are being examined one by one. The Ministry of Interior is recalling them. The Interior Ministry has also launched an investigation into the violation of emergency lanes."
