Claim from figure close to Kılıçdaroğlu regarding Özgür Özel camp and Genç Parti: 'They met with Cem Uzan'

As debates over absolute nullity continue within the CHP, Barış Yarkadaş, a figure close to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, has put forward a striking claim regarding the Özgür Özel camp.

Suggesting that Özgür Özel and his associates are continuing their search for a party, Yarkadaş claimed that contact was made with the Genç Parti regarding this matter and that they met with Cem Uzan.

Yarkadaş stated, "Uzan expressed that he does not manage the party himself, that Burçin Şahindur is the chairman, and therefore such a transfer proposal should be made to Burçin Şahindur."

Stating that Burçin Şahindur confirmed this meeting, Yarkadaş said, "When I asked 'Who met with you?', he said, 'It would not be right for me to disclose this before Mr. Cem does. I know the name, but I cannot give it to you because it would be wrong.'"

Yarkadaş's claims are as follows:

"It has been learned that some friends from Özgür Özel's team reached out to Cem Uzan, the former chairman and founder of our party. In the meeting, they expressed that they wanted to join the Genç Parti and were considering taking over the party's management. However, Mr. Cem stated that he is no longer actively involved in politics and said that Mr. Burçin manages the Genç Parti.

Upon this, I asked the following question:

“Why do they want you?”

Mr. Burçin made the following assessment:

“Because we are a party organized in 72 provinces that has earned the right to enter elections. Furthermore, we have a political line that stands in the center-right. I think they want to choose us for this reason.”

When we asked him, “What will your stance be if they come to you?”, he gave the following response:

“People facing so many allegations of corruption cannot come to our party without being cleared. We cannot stand side-by-side with a structure in the shadow of so many corruption allegations. The chairman of the CHP is clear. We are not a party that tries to get votes by appearing appealing to a certain voter group of the CHP; we do not resemble them either.

The CHP must resolve the problems it is experiencing as soon as possible under the leadership of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. The social opposition must also be cleansed of these problems and unite. Otherwise, it may be inevitable that we lose the next election to the Justice and Development Party.”
