Claim: Terrorist leader Öcalan wants to appear on camera with a government or state official

Following the calls made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, the expected call to lay down arms from terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan has not yet materialized in the ongoing DEM Party – Imralı meetings.

A striking claim has emerged regarding the ongoing new Imralı process.

"ÖCALAN WANTS TO APPEAR ON CAMERA WITH A STATE OFFICIAL BY HIS SIDE"

Posta columnist Murat Çelik, citing a report in Hürriyet during the Para Politika program on Sözcü TV hosted by journalist Özlem Gürses, said, "A sentence caught my attention regarding the claim that Öcalan would make a call via a video recording and that he wants to appear on camera in the video recording together with a state or government official. Frankly, I had not heard this before."

"ANKARA TRADITIONALLY DOES NOT PROVIDE SUCH AN IMAGE"

Regarding the claim, Çelik also commented, "I do not know how such a request would be met under today's conditions; I know that Ankara traditionally does not provide such an image, but at the point we have reached under today's conditions, it seems difficult to comment on how that matter might develop."
