Claim that 'AKP Istanbul Provincial Chair Osman Nuri Kabaktepe will be dismissed': 3 names considered as replacements emerge
It has been claimed that AKP Istanbul Provincial Chair Osman Nuri Kabaktepe may be dismissed. Halk TV columnist İsmail Saymaz, who brought the claim to the agenda, also revealed three names being considered to replace Kabaktepe.
In the AKP, which suffered a defeat in the March 31 Local Elections, changes among some provincial chairs and general vice chairs are on the agenda.
It has been alleged that one of these names is AKP Istanbul Provincial Chair Osman Nuri Kabaktepe.
According to the behind-the-scenes information reported by Halk TV columnist İsmail Saymaz, he wrote that comments are being made within the AKP regarding Kabaktepe, stating: "He could not achieve the expected excitement and revitalization. He is a good person. However, he is unsuccessful. He remained very much under the influence of Esenler Mayor Mehmet Tevfik Göksu."
Recalling the sentence attributed to Shams Tabrizi that Kabaktepe shared on his X account on the morning of August 9 at 7:36 AM, "I understood that some people think those who remain silent are cowards, those who ignore are stupid, and those who know how to forgive are pushovers. Yet, they are in our lives as much as we want them to be. They are as honest as we turn a blind eye, and they are human as much as we remain silent," Saymaz noted that this post aroused his curiosity and that he called his AKP sources.
The relevant part of Saymaz's article is as follows:
"My sources stated that Kabaktepe is considered unsuccessful and could be dismissed, saying the following:
'He could not achieve the expected excitement and revitalization. He is a good person. However, he is unsuccessful. He remained very much under the influence of Esenler Mayor Mehmet Tevfik Göksu.'
It is known that Kabaktepe wanted Göksu, not Murat Kurum, in Istanbul on March 31. Kabaktepe is known to be close to the Cihannüma Association, which was founded by former Milli Görüş Foundation members such as Göksu, İhsan Aktaş, and Mustafa Şen within the party.
Three names are being mentioned to replace Kabaktepe.
Former Beyoğlu Mayor Haydar Ali Yıldız, who is close to Bilal Erdoğan; former Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen; and former AK Party Istanbul Provincial Chair and MKYK member Aziz Babuşçu.
I called Yıldız and Türkmen. They were content with saying, 'These rumors are reaching our ears as well.'"
