According to Dikbayır's claim, the inspector conducting the investigation has been dismissed by the Diyanet. In a post on his social media account, Dikbayır stated that he had filed a complaint with the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) regarding Konakcı. The Presidency of Religious Affairs had launched an investigation into Halil Konakcı on the grounds of 'inciting the public to hatred and enmity.'

Announcing the investigation opened as a result of his complaint against Konakcı on his social media account, Dikbayır reported the following:

''Last week, I filed a written complaint with the Presidency of Religious Affairs regarding the individual named Halil Konakcı. Within the scope of the administrative investigation launched, Diyanet Chief Inspector İbrahim Öztürk and Deputy Director Hüseyin Akdağ visited me to consult my knowledge. I delivered all the documents subject to the complaint to them in a file and provided the necessary information. I would like to state that I will be following the matter and wish them success in their work.''
