Clear response from İzmit Mayor to AKP allegations

According to a report by the Kocaeli newspaper, Fatma Kaplan Hürriyet made a statement regarding the allegations in question. Hürriyet stated that the claims did not reflect the truth and gave a clear response to the public.

Hürriyet said that the allegations arose from a slip of the tongue during a reference to the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. She included the following remarks in her statement:
"It is an allegation put forward because he said 'İzmit Metropolitan' due to a slip of the tongue instead of İzmir Metropolitan. İzmit isn't even a metropolitan municipality. I don't even take it seriously."
