Cleaver attack on AKP provincial building in Iğdır!

A cleaver attack was carried out this morning at the AKP Iğdır Provincial Presidency, located in the Bağlar neighborhood of Iğdır. An individual identified as 30-year-old Bilen Balta first knocked on the door of the provincial headquarters. The attacker then broke the glass of the door with the cleaver in his hand and entered as soon as the door was opened. Once inside, the attacker shouted and hurled insults for a while. 

Police teams arrived at the scene following a report. Security forces persuaded the suspect and took him to the General Directorate of Security. 

Following the attack, AKP Iğdır Provincial Chairman Ali Kemal Ayaz made a statement. He used the following expressions in his statement: 

"This morning, a person named Bilen Balta came in front of the party building and carried out an attack with the cleaver in his hand. After forcing his way in, he tried to go upstairs, but security forces made the necessary intervention and persuaded him to end this act. We condemn these attacks; these are not pleasant things, they are grave incidents. These attacks will neither be the first nor will they intimidate us. We are always by our leader's and our party's side, and we will continue to wage this struggle as long as we have breath. The attacker carried out the assault while hurling insults at our President and his wife. We condemn and denounce it."
