Clothing items belonging to Rojin found on the shore of Lake Van

Rojin Kabaiş (21), a first-year Preschool Education student at the Van YYÜ Faculty of Education, had arrived in Van from Diyarbakır after enrolling at the university and moved into her dormitory on September 25. On September 27, 2024, after eating at the dormitory, she was seen on security camera footage leaving to go down to the shore of Lake Van; she was wearing sweatpants and was seen looking at her phone as she passed through the turnstile. There has been no news from Rojin for 13 days.

In the search efforts, which are being closely followed by her father Nizamettin and mother Aygül Kabaiş who came from Diyarbakır, clothing items alleged to belong to Rojin were found today on the shore of Lake Van. Crime scene investigation teams immediately took action and conducted work regarding the clothing items, which were reportedly found on the shore of Lake Van approximately 250 meters away from the area where her mobile phone, headphones, water, and cake were discovered. Police teams, who collected samples from the area in question, later left the scene.
