Commandos begin fire patrols on Mount Hasan

While many forest areas have been damaged by forest fires across the country, measures have been increased on Mount Hasan, the largest forested area in Aksaray. Gendarmerie commandos are conducting patrol activities in the region both by land and air against the risk of fire.

The commandos observe distant areas with binoculars and also inspect the forest from the air using drones. The teams, advancing on foot through the terrain, identify and collect glass-like materials that could cause fires. Citizens found within the forest are being warned to be careful.

The teams conduct observations by crouching at certain intervals in the forested area, and these inspections are carried out in shifts at all hours of the day. Commando teams patrolling around Mount Hasan continue to take precautions against potential fire risks.
