Deliberations on the 8th Judicial Package, which includes amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code and certain other laws, as well as Decree-Law No. 659, have begun in the Justice Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
The 8th Judicial Package, which the AKP has been preparing, was submitted to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey last week. Deliberations on the 8th Judicial Package, which includes amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code and certain other laws, as well as Decree-Law No. 659, have begun in the Justice Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
The commission convened under the chairmanship of AKP Istanbul Deputy Cüneyt Yüksel.
"TO STRENGTHEN THE FREEDOM TO SEEK JUSTICE"
In his speech before the start of the deliberations, Yüksel claimed that the proposal contains significant regulations regarding the further strengthening of the freedom to seek justice, ensuring effective combat against crime, accelerating judicial proceedings, and the protection of personal data.
After the proposal is discussed in the commission, it will be brought before the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
In the Criminal Procedure Code, within the scope of the announcement of the verdict and the deferment of the announcement of the verdict, if the sentence imposed at the end of the trial for the crime charged to the defendant is a prison sentence of 2 years or less, or a judicial fine, the court may decide to defer the announcement of the verdict.
