Competition among fishmongers in Eskişehir has driven the price of anchovies down to 50 liras per kilogram.
In Eskişehir, the price of anchovies, which had risen to as high as 300 liras per kilogram in recent days, fell to 70 liras by noon today and further declined to 50 liras by the evening. The abundance of anchovies in the Black Sea and the competition among fishmongers have delighted citizens. With the price dropping to 50 liras, long queues formed in front of some fish shops.
