Complaints withdrawn in Zehra Kınık case
In the trial regarding the accident that caused the death of Batın Barlasçeki, involving Fatma Zehra Kınık Demir, the daughter of former Turkish Red Crescent President Kerem Kınık, the injured motorcycle rider Yavuz Selim Öztürk and the father of Batın Barlasçeki have withdrawn their complaints.
Significant developments have occurred in the trial where Fatma Zehra Kınık Demir, daughter of former Turkish Red Crescent President Kerem Kınık, caused the death of 17-year-old Batın Barlasçeki and injured three others in an accident that took place on July 9, 2024. In the case, the injured motorcycle rider Yavuz Selim Öztürk and Batın Barlasçeki’s father, Serdal Barlasçeki, have withdrawn their complaints.
4 YEARS AND 2 MONTHS PRISON SENTENCE GIVEN
In the hearing held on May 26, the court sentenced Fatma Zehra Kınık Demir to 4 years and 2 months in prison. The sentence was applied without deferment, and it was decided that judicial control measures would continue. Additionally, Demir's driver's license had been confiscated for a period of 2 years.
BARLASÇEKİ’S FATHER ALSO WITHDREW
Following Öztürk's withdrawal of his complaint, Batın Barlasçeki's father, Serdal Barlasçeki, also submitted a petition to the court, withdrawing his complaint. Barlasçeki stated, “I have no demands for any material or moral compensation from the defendant. I will not apply for an appeal either.”
