Concert by Israeli-born singer Linet cancelled by governor's office decision
The Ankara Governor's Office has cancelled the concert of Israeli-born singer Linet Menaşi.
The concert that Israeli-born singer Linet Menaşi was set to perform in Ankara on January 17 has been cancelled by a decision from the governor's office.
It is alleged that the reason for the cancellation was the public reaction to a social media post made by Linet stating "Hamas is a murderer."
According to a report by the pro-government Sabah newspaper, the Ankara Governor's Office decided to cancel the concert following the public backlash against this post.
Linet has not yet made a statement regarding the matter.
Linet, who performs songs in Arabic and English in addition to Turkish and Hebrew, released her first album in Turkey in 1995.
