Following Kadir İnanır's passing on June 26, a condolence message arrived from Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK. In his message, Öcalan recalled İnanır's support for the resolution process.
The terrorist leader Öcalan used the following expressions in the message he issued for Kadir İnanır:
“I respectfully commemorate the beloved Kadir İnanır, a great artist who captured the hearts of the peoples of Turkey.
He was a great representative of the line of cinematic art that includes Yılmaz Güney and Sırrı Süreyya. He was a true artist for the people. He was a sincere ethical and aesthetic value of the people. He was also one of the true and persistent wise leaders of the peace process. Just like Sırrı Süreyya, he was a follower of the last peace process. I believe that the new Peace and Democratic Society Process will reach success. With this success, his soul will be at peace.
I offer my condolences to all his relatives, friends, and our people, and I greet them with respect and love."
