Confession to change the course of the Narin Güran investigation: 'I gave a false statement under pressure'

While all developments in the Narin Güran murder, which has plunged all of Turkey into mourning, are being followed closely, another confession has emerged that will change the course of the investigation.

Halk TV reporter Ferit Demir reported that the interrogation of the suspects referred to the courthouse has begun. Demir stated that a 17-year-old girl, who had previously claimed to have seen Narin at 18.40 in the evening, said, "I did not see Narin. Salim Güran pressured me to say that I saw Narin at that time; I was scared, so I said it."

Ferit Demir noted that the claim that Narin was seen in the evening was a scenario and that the girl had given her statement under the pressure of the detained uncle, Salim Güran. Demir said, "This is information that has come to light for the first time."

IDENTITIES OF THOSE DETAINED HAVE BEEN CLARIFIED

The identities of those detained within the scope of the investigation have been clarified.

Among the 22 suspects are Narin’s father Arif Güran, her mother Yüksel Güran, and her 18-year-old brother E.G., who was previously detained and released due to bite marks on his arm.

Also in custody are uncles Ö.F.G. (29), B.G. (37), F.G. (42), K.G. (31), M.G. (40), and H.İ.G.

Narin’s cousins U.G. (24) and O.G. (23), as well as her female cousins M.G. (15) and B.G. (19), are also among those in custody.

Narin’s cousin’s son D.G. (22), her aunts-in-law M.G. (46) and M.G. (39), her aunt A.K. (40), and her uncle-in-law M.Ş. have also been referred to the courthouse.

It was learned that among the 22 people are Salim Güran’s workers Ö.Y. and M.S. (40), the worker’s 15-year-old son, and M.K. (23).
