Confidentiality order issued in investigation into the Polat couple
A confidentiality order has been issued for the case file concerning Dilan and Engin Polat, who were summoned to provide statements and blood samples over allegations of "using drugs or stimulants." Lawyer Sevinç Horoz stated, "The reports are clean; it is established that they do not use drugs."
Within the scope of an investigation into "using drugs or stimulants" initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Bureau of Investigation for Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes, statements were taken from numerous well-known public figures.
As part of the operation conducted by the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command, 18 individuals, including Dilan Polat, Engin Polat, Hadise Açıkgöz, İrem Derici, Kubilay Aka, Kaan Yıldırım, Berrak Tüzünataç, Demet Evgar Babataş, Duygu Özaslan Mutaf, Zeynep Meriç Aral Keskin, Özge Özpirinçci, lawyer Feyza Altun, Derin Talu, Deren Talu, Metin Akdülger, Ceren Moray Orcan, and Mert Yazıcıoğlu, were taken to the gendarmerie center to provide statements and blood samples.
THE POLAT COUPLE ALSO INCLUDED IN THE INVESTIGATION
Within the scope of the investigation, the Polat couple, Dilan and Engin, who were previously detained in a money laundering case, were also among those summoned to provide statements. The couple's lawyer, Sevinç Horoz, made a statement regarding the process and announced that a confidentiality order had been issued for the file.
"THERE IS NO CONCRETE ALLEGATION"
Horoz stated that the procedure was not a "detention" but a process of providing a statement while in custody. In her statement, lawyer Horoz said:
"We do not currently know why we were brought in. There is no concrete allegation. There is no special request other than the statement. My clients had previously provided blood, urine, and hair samples. The results of these tests came back clean. Our declarations and evidence that they do not use drugs are established."
"CONFIDENTIALITY ORDER ISSUED"
Lawyer Horoz stated that the confidentiality order regarding the file was issued by the prosecutor's office, adding, "We were informed that there was a tip-off, but the content was not shared. My clients have completed the statement process and will then go to provide samples. This is not a detention procedure. The current findings do not confirm the use of drugs," she stated.
