The new government formed in Syria following the collapse of the Assad regime has announced that it is suspending the constitution and parliament for three months. Government spokesperson Arnaout stated that "a judicial and human rights committee will be established to review the constitution and subsequently make amendments."

Syria's new government spokesperson, Obaida Arnaout, said in a statement that the country's constitution and parliament would be suspended for a three-month transition period following the overthrow of President Bashar al-Assad.

HUMAN RIGHTS COMMITTEE TO BE ESTABLISHED

Spokesperson Arnaout said, "A judicial and human rights committee will be established to review the constitution and subsequently make amendments."

It was stated that the constitution and parliament would remain suspended until the committee is established.
