In a post on X, Serap Yazıcı Özbudun stated: “I lost my very dear mentor, my precious teacher, the sultan of my heart, my life partner, my one and only husband Prof. Ergun Özbudun as of 01:00 on November 1, 2023. May Almighty Allah accept him into the most beautiful place in His paradise and bring us together again. May his soul rest in peace and his place be in heaven.”
