Container ship lists at Ambarlı Port! Statement issued by the Istanbul Governor's Office
The Istanbul Governor's Office announced that one person was slightly injured in the accident that occurred when a container ship listed at Ambarlı Port.
At the Mardaş Port in Ambarlı, Beylikdüzü, Istanbul, the container ship named AMNAH listed while loading cargo at approximately 04:00.
According to the statement made by the Istanbul Governor's Office, 10 of the 15 crew members on board were rescued by teams, while 5 people who jumped into the sea reached the port by their own means.
One person who was slightly injured in the incident was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The area around the ship was surrounded by floating barriers, and the risk of marine pollution was brought under control.
Rescue operations are continuing under the coordination of the port authority.
