Counterfeit gold operation in 4 provinces: 3 thousand 646 quarter gold coins seized

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced the details of the “AYAR-3” operations carried out against individuals “attempting to introduce counterfeit gold into the market” in 4 provinces, centered in Adana.

Minister Yerlikaya announced that 3 thousand 646 quarter gold coins, 811 half gold coins, 1 thousand 614 full gold coins, and 57 Reşat gold coins, with a total value of approximately 50 million TL, were seized.

Yerlikaya stated the following:

"13 suspects identified as having committed the crime of 'forgery of values considered equal to money' were apprehended in the operations.

We are on the heels of smugglers and those involved in forgery. With the support and prayers of our nation, we will not give them any breathing room!

Under the coordination of the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, as a result of the work carried out by the Adana Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Branch, “AYAR-3” operations were conducted in Adana, as well as Mersin, Yozgat, and Kahramanmaraş.

As a result of the operations: 14 full gold molds, 13 half gold molds, 10 quarter gold molds, 10 rings belonging to gold molds, 4 gold blanks ready for minting, and documents related to orders were confiscated."
