A blow was dealt to a network producing adulterated olive oil in an operation conducted in Aydın.

During searches of the warehouses, thousands of tins were caught waiting to be filled.

Teams from the Aydın Provincial Police Department's Security Branch carried out simultaneous raids on addresses producing counterfeit olive oil.

During the operation, 3.5 tons of adulterated olive oil, 6 thousand tins ready for filling, 720 kilograms of brined olives with expired shelf lives, and 40 liters of pomegranate molasses were seized.

Judicial proceedings have been initiated against the 6 suspects who were detained.

With this operation, counterfeit food products were prevented from entering the market.
