Court of Cassation Chamber President calls pro-government Yeni Şafak a 'gang'! 'May the curse of God be upon them all'
The pro-government newspaper Yeni Şafak has set its sights on Abdullah Yaman, President of the 11th Civil Chamber of the Court of Cassation. While the newspaper accused Yaman of both 'unethical conduct' and 'FETÖ links,' Yaman responded with a harsh rebuttal.
The pro-government newspaper Yeni Şafak, which has recently frequently targeted Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, has now set its sights on Abdullah Yaman, President of the 11th Civil Chamber of the Court of Cassation.
In an article published under the headline "FETÖ shadow at the Court of Cassation: File manipulation and single-number game by Chamber President Yaman," the newspaper accused Yaman of "engaging in unethical transactions" and "having FETÖ links."

FILE NUMBER CONTROVERSY
The report alleged that Abdullah Yaman, President of the 11th Civil Chamber of the Court of Cassation, altered the file sequence in order to bring a major case consisting of approximately 330 files under his own panel.
According to Yeni Şafak's claim, Yaman moved a file that should normally have been reviewed by the "even-numbered panel" to the "odd-numbered panel," thereby performing "file manipulation" and executing a "single-number game."
ACCUSATIONS REGARDING HIS FAMILY
The newspaper also brought up old allegations regarding Yaman's family. The report claimed that Yaman's brother is a "FETÖ fugitive" and that his children were dismissed from their professions on the grounds of "organizational links."
In its report, Yeni Şafak directed heavy accusations at Yaman with phrases such as "The FETÖ shadow at the Court of Cassation still persists" and "an attempt to design the high judiciary."
HARSH REACTION FROM YAMAN: "YENİ ŞAFAK GANG"
Abdullah Yaman, President of the 11th Civil Chamber of the Court of Cassation, responded to the allegations against him with a very harsh statement on his Facebook account.
Yaman described the newspaper as the "Yeni Şafak gang" and denied all accusations directed at him. In his statement, he expressed that this was an "assassination of reputation through slander."
"IF A SHRED OF THIS REPORT IS TRUE, I WILL RESIGN"
In his statement, Abdullah Yaman called on state institutions to take action, requesting that his HTS (historical traffic search) records, bank transactions, and security camera footage be examined.
Stating, "I am ready to resign if a shred of this report is true," Yaman noted that otherwise, this campaign is "an attack on the reputation of the state."
The full text of Yaman's statement is as follows:
"YENİ ŞAFAK GANG"
In the final stage of my judgeship profession, which I entered in 1987, I was elected as the President of the 11th Civil Chamber of the Court of Cassation by chance.
Since the beginning of my career, I have acted entirely with a focus on rights and justice without leaning on any center of power, and I have made maximum effort to ensure that no one's rights are taken by anyone else.
At a time when corruption has reached its peak, even if I could not save the country, I tried to contribute to the establishment of trust in justice, at least by keeping my own doorstep clean.
None of these are merits, of course. There can be nothing more abnormal than a judge gaining prestige for honesty. Honesty should be a mandatory duty for our job, our sine qua non, right? However, the country has become so polluted that even ordinary virtues have become subjects of praise.
Therefore, we have not had any expectation of receiving a 'well done' from anyone. But there must be a limit to trying to make people pay a price through slander.
There must be a limit to being executed as a family, with each accusation corresponding to a separate slander, right?
They do not know that our lives have been spent in a struggle against such vile, dishonorable, and unscrupulous slanderers.
With God's infinite mercy and power, we have overcome them all, thank God.
The Chamber I preside over is tasked with handling commercial cases with relatively large sums. Even though we have sometimes been exposed to unjust demands and expectations for this, we have known how to push them away with the back of our hands.
If you have not left behind a base life that would leave you hostage in the hands of some, you already have no difficulty in taking a stance.
The sole reason why the Yeni Şafak gang is now trying to smear me is that we did not allow them the opportunity and chance to seize someone's property through illicit means; for two days, they have been engaging in character assassination with lies and slander.
Of course, I will do my best within the legitimate framework against this gang, which has been posing as religious for years and has stopped at nothing for the sake of three cents of benefit.
By the way, I do not know what to say to the pathetic conservative trolls who still think these hypocrites are Muslims and have started lynching me on social media over FETÖ.
May the curse of God be upon them all.
If there is anyone in this country more vile than FETÖ, it is these dishonorable people who recklessly throw this label around for their worldly interests.
Hey you illegitimate, hypocritical, lowest of the low Yeni Şafak gang, I am a dishonorable person if I do not resign if you verify even one of the contents of the mentioned report.
Well, you living corpses, have you thought for a moment about what you will account for on the other side tomorrow?
I know there is no point in asking this question to creatures whose gears have been shifted by illicit gains for years.
See you on the day of judgment tomorrow; for now, be entrusted to your devil.
Since the subject concerns the state apparatus in one dimension, I invite all relevant institutions to take action. Let them open an investigation and examine all my past phone HTS records and account movements, as well as all camera records and footage, including the footage from workplaces I happened to pass by.
If even a shred of what these vile people have shared under the name of news is true, I am ready to be held accountable in front of the public.
What if it turns out otherwise? If these merchants of religion are to continue their threats, blackmail, and character assassination from where they left off to secure the interests of their patronage, the matter ceases to be Abdullah Yaman's personal issue and enters the realm of violating the state's reputation.
Where the state's reputation ends, the dominance of such gangs begins, and you cannot expect Abdullah Yaman's resistance from everyone."
