Cousin of FETÖ leader Gülen detained
Kemalettin Gülen, the cousin of Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) leader Fetullah Gülen, has been apprehended for allegedly insulting Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on social media.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office determined that Kemalettin Gülen, the cousin of FETÖ leader Fetullah Gülen, had made posts containing insults directed at Atatürk and President Erdoğan from the social media account with the username "yahya_kema5566".
Following these findings, the prosecutor's office issued a detention warrant for the suspect on charges of violating the "Law Concerning Crimes Committed Against Atatürk" and "insulting the President."
The suspect, Kemalettin Gülen, was taken into custody during an operation conducted by the police.
