Crane-loaded truck rolls off cliff: Driver loses life

In the Körfez district of Kocaeli, a truck loaded with a crane being taken for repairs rolled off a cliff. The 25-year-old driver, who remained trapped under the shattered crane, lost his life.

According to information obtained regarding the incident that occurred in the İlimtepe Hacıosman neighborhood, Metehan Şahin (25) set out with a crane-loaded truck, license plate 54 B 8007, to head to the industrial zone.

While in motion, the vehicle went out of the driver's control and rolled down a cliff of approximately 30 meters. Due to the force of the accident, the truck was shattered, and Metehan Şahin became trapped in the vehicle.

Upon the notification made to the 112 Emergency Call Center, fire, health, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams that arrived at the scene in a short time began efforts to rescue the young man from where he was trapped. In the initial intervention performed by the health teams, it was determined that Şahin had lost his life.

Metehan Şahin's lifeless body was removed from where it was located as a result of the long efforts of the fire department teams.
