Criminal complaint filed against journalist Lube Ayar in the Seçil Erzan case

A new development has occurred regarding the case of bank branch manager Seçil Erzan, who is being tried at the Istanbul 41st High Criminal Court for allegedly defrauding 29 people, including well-known footballers Arda Turan, Fernando Muslera, Emre Belözoğlu, and Selçuk İnan, of approximately 25 million dollars and 7 million 384 thousand liras by claiming there was a reliable, high-yield fund and that names like Fatih Terim were also involved in this fund.

SHE WAS REMOVED FROM THE COURTROOM

During the hearing held on September 20, Rezan Epözdemir, the lawyer for some of the complainants, requested that a criminal complaint be filed against journalist Lube Ayar on the grounds that she had shared posts on the social media platform X that did not accurately reflect the statements recorded in the hearing minutes. Ayar, who was present in the courtroom, reacted to this situation. Following the incident, the panel decided to have Ayar removed from the courtroom.

CRIMINAL COMPLAINT REQUEST FROM THE COMPLAINANT'S LAWYER

During the incident, Lube Ayar pointed her finger at the complainant footballers' lawyer, Rezan Epözdemir, and said, "You'll see, just you wait." Upon this, Epözdemir reacted to the situation and requested that a criminal complaint be filed against Ayar with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The Public Prosecutor, whose opinion was sought, requested that the demand be accepted.

CRIMINAL COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST AYAR WITH THE ISTANBUL CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE

Evaluating the request, the court panel decided to issue a writ to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to file a criminal complaint against Ayar for the crimes of 'threats and attempting to influence a fair trial.'
