Criminal complaint filed against Yeni Şafak columnist by Horasan Erenleri Association

In the criminal complaint, which was based on the grounds of publicly inciting hatred and hostility and insulting the public and the values of the public, it was stated: "These expressions, let alone being Muslim, could only come from a mouth that has not received its share of humanity. Or, such slanders could be put forward with the aim of creating delirium in society and inciting certain segments, under the order of a 'superior mind' that aims to undermine the goal of 'strengthening the internal front,' which our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has emphasized with great importance, and to create discord by sowing seeds of strife among our nation."

WHAT HAPPENED?

In his article dated March 15, 2025, the Yeni Şafak columnist had used the following words regarding Syrian Nusayri Alevis: "Nusayrism is a belief system completely outside of Islam, which attributes divinity to Hz. Ali, accepts reincarnation, produces a unique sacred perception with esoteric interpretations, and is so extreme as to consider even incestuous marriages legitimate."
