Criminal complaint from İBB Medya A.Ş. against certain journalists! Here are the names...

İstanbul Dijital Medya Ticaret A.Ş. (İBB Medya A.Ş.) has announced that it has initiated legal proceedings against certain journalists and social media users who have shared misleading information about the company's operations with the public.

In the statement made by the company, it was noted that no irregularities were found during Court of Accounts (Sayıştay) audits, and it was stated that some members of the press and social media accounts have been manipulating the public with untrue allegations. In this context, it was announced that criminal complaints have been filed against Levent Gültekin, Bekir Tiryaki, Nuray Başaran, and Cem Küçük, as well as the TGRT Haber channel.

In the complaint petitions submitted to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, criminal complaints were filed against the relevant individuals for "Publicly Spreading Misleading Information" under Article 217/A of the Turkish Penal Code and for "Fabricating Crimes" under Article 271.

Some of the individuals complained about had made allegations on social media platforms and television programs, such as that regular payments were being made to certain journalists from the budget of İBB Medya A.Ş. and that phones were distributed to delegates at the CHP congress.

İBB Medya A.Ş. officials emphasized that all of the company's procurement processes were examined in detail by Court of Accounts inspectors and that no errors or irregularities were detected, stating that the allegations do not reflect the truth.

LEGAL PROCESS INITIATED

The company announced that it will defend its legal rights to the fullest against individuals and organizations that produce misleading news and misdirect the public. In this context, it was stated that both criminal complaints have been filed with prosecutors' offices and compensation lawsuits have been initiated against the relevant individuals.
