Prof. Dr. Adem Sözüer, attorney for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, commented on the decision to revoke his diploma.
Criminal law professor Adem Sözüer reacted to the revocation of İmamoğlu's diploma on his social media account.
Sözüer stated the following:
This is a grave abuse of authority and is null and void.
1) The commission that established the lateral transfer is the Istanbul University Faculty of Business Administration.
2) The decision for the lateral transfer was made by the Faculty of Business Administration Board of Directors.
3) The diploma was prepared by the Faculty of Business Administration graduation unit.
4) The diploma was signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and the Rector.
5) Due to the principle of parallelism in authority and procedure, only those who performed these actions can revoke them. Istanbul
For the University Board of Directors to make a decision by bypassing the bodies of the Faculty of Business Administration is a grave abuse of authority. This decision is null and void. No authority can take action based on such a decision; if they do, those actions will also be invalid.
