Criminals ignored police stop order: Clashed with police!

During a drug and robbery operation carried out in the Küçükbalıklı neighborhood of Bursa's Osmangazi district, an armed clash occurred between security forces and a suspect.

During the operation, Doğukan Akın, who had a finalized prison sentence of 2 years and 6 months and was identified as a drug dealer, ignored the police's stop order and opened fire with his handgun.

The incident took place on December 31, 2024, at approximately 01:50.

As part of their efforts to combat drug trafficking, police teams determined that Doğukan Akın would arrive at an address in the Küçükbalıklı neighborhood, based on information provided by a previously apprehended individual.

The teams set up an ambush at the address, intending to take the suspect into custody. However, Doğukan Akın noticed the police officers and opened fire with a handgun.

SUSPECTS NEUTRALIZED 

Exercising their authority to use force, the police returned fire, shooting the suspect in his right calf and neutralizing him.

Police officers Erdal Kaya and Mehmet Turan Kaya were not injured during the clash. A search of the suspect Akın's person revealed an unlicensed handgun, approximately 60 grams of methamphetamine in four packages, and 1,600 TL.

Akın was taken to the hospital by ambulance after receiving initial medical intervention at the scene. It was reported that the suspect, who sustained a comminuted fracture in his right leg, is not in life-threatening condition.

Furthermore, it was determined that Doğukan Akın was the perpetrator of a robbery that occurred in the Bağlarbaşı neighborhood on December 30, 2024. During the robbery, a laptop, a mobile phone, a power bank, a computer monitor, a mouse, a sound system, and a tablet were stolen.

EXTENSIVE CRIMINAL RECORDS 

During the operation, the stolen items and the handgun used in the incident were also seized.

Following the prosecutor's instructions, an investigation was launched into Doğukan Akın, who was taken into custody, as well as Yeliz Örçen, who has 26 prior criminal records, Volkan Sedefli, who has 23, and Hakan Aygün, who has 6.
