Following the decision, all eyes turned to Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, and TİP Chairman Erkan Baş requested an appointment from Kurtulmuş to discuss Atalay's situation.
After the AYM's decision on August 1 regarding the application concerning the revocation of Can Atalay's parliamentary status, Atalay's lawyers also applied to the Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court on the same day for his release. The lawyers' request for release has not been answered for 6 days.
