Critical day for the process commission: Name debate to be settled at the first meeting

The commission to be established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) for the necessary legal regulations in the process to be carried out following the PKK's decision to dissolve and lay down arms will hold its first meeting today. On the first day of the meeting, it is planned to determine the name, working procedures, principles, and rules of the commission.

It was stated that the commission will prepare certain legal regulations regarding the needs that arise with the organization's disarmament process and will carry out work on what measures will be taken regarding the process.

The name of the commission will be decided at the meeting to be held today. It will be chosen from among the names to be proposed by the commission members. The political parties participating in the meeting are expected to present their own name proposals.

INVITATION TO DEPUTIES FROM KURTULMUŞ

The commission was initially planned to consist of 51 members. Political parties were asked to notify their members for the commission. The seat distribution envisioned for the parties in the commission will be shaped as follows: AKP 21, CHP 10, DEM Party 4, MHP 4, IYI Party 3, New Way 3, HÜDA PAR 1, YRP 1, TİP 1, EMEP 1, DSP 1, and DP 1. The IYI Party has not submitted a notification for the 3 memberships allocated to it.

Kurtulmuş invited the following names to the meeting as commission members:
