The first hearing of the case, in which the defendants are charged with "extortion by coercion," "attempted extortion," "bribery," "qualified fraud," and "violation of Law No. 5072 on Foundations and Associations," and in which Özcan faces up to 263 years in prison, has concluded. The court panel announced its interim ruling following the 5-day first hearing.

The court panel ruled that the detention of suspended Mayor Tanju Özcan, Deputy Mayor Süleyman Can, BOLSEV Board Member Ali Sarıyıldız, and Mustafa Altındal, President of the Bolu Greengrocers and Vendors Chamber and the Bolu Köroğlu Credit and Bail Cooperative, shall continue.
