Critical meeting in Ankara concludes: Joint statement from Mansur Yavaş and 15 mayors

While the resignation of Keçiören Mayor Mesut Özarslan from the CHP continues to occupy the agenda, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş held a critical meeting with CHP district mayors in the capital.

In the statement issued after the meeting, it was reported that the meeting was not held due to Özarslan's resignation and had been planned 10 days in advance.

The statement included the following: "Our understanding of politics is clear: We receive our mandate from the nation, and we account to the nation. Positions are temporary. What remains is the legacy left behind. We are well aware of our responsibility and where we stand."

The written statement, signed by Yavaş and 15 mayors, is as follows:

"The meeting held under the host of our Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mr. Mansur Yavaş, with the participation of our district mayors, members of parliament, Party Assembly members, and our Ankara organization, is a consultation meeting that was planned approximately ten days ago.

The fact that the date of the meeting coincides with some developments on the public agenda in recent days is purely a coincidence.

We, as the Metropolitan Mayor from the Republican People's Party and 15 CHP district mayors, are representatives of the same understanding, the same responsibility, and the same populist municipal line.

Our titles and the regions we serve may differ. However, our responsibility to this city and this country is one. What keeps us together is our shared values and the will of the nation.

In Ankara, as well as across Turkey, we continue on our path with an approach that centers on service, does not compromise on transparency and justice, and excludes no one and leaves no one behind.

The high satisfaction rates currently seen in the field are the natural result of this approach and the relationship of trust built on the streets. This picture is a reflection of our municipalities, members of parliament, and our organization working together and in harmony under the leadership of our Republican People's Party Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel.

Our goal is very clear: To achieve at the national level what we have achieved at the local level. To carry this bond, established in the hearts of the nation, into the future of the country.
