Critical phone call from Hakan Fidan to Abbas Araghchi

Diplomatic traffic has accelerated following the ballistic munition crisis. After a missile attempt was detected heading toward Turkey from the Iranian border, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi.

TURKEY'S REACTION CONVEYED

During the call, the issue of the ballistic munition, which was determined to have been fired from Iran and headed toward Turkey after passing through Iraqi and Syrian airspace, was discussed. It was reported that the munition in question was neutralized by NATO elements stationed in the Eastern Mediterranean.

It was stated that Hakan Fidan conveyed Turkey's reaction regarding the matter to the Iranian side.

"CONFLICTS MUST NOT SPREAD"

During the diplomatic contact, it was noted that Fidan expressed the need to avoid any steps that could lead to a further escalation of tension in the region. The message that the spread of conflicts must be prevented was conveyed to the other party.

FELL IN DÖRTYOL

On the other hand, the Ministry of National Defense announced that the ballistic munition fired from Iran and identified as heading toward Turkey was neutralized in the Eastern Mediterranean. It was reported that the piece that fell in the Dörtyol district of Hatay belonged to the air defense system.
