EARTHQUAKE STATEMENT FROM PROF. DR. NACİ GÖRÜR
Geoscientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür made an assessment regarding the earthquake on social media. Görür stated that the 6.1 magnitude earthquake in Sındırgı occurred on the Sındırgı Segment of the Simav Fault Zone. Görür said, "It is a right-lateral strike-slip fault. It is not a small earthquake; there may be damage. However, I do not think there will be a larger earthquake."
