Describing the situation as "vote theft," Sarı addressed the CHP administrators of that period, asking what evaluations led to these individuals being nominated.
Republican People's Party (CHP) Party Spokesperson Müslim Sarı released a written statement on social media regarding the mayors who were nominated by his party and won the election, but later joined the AKP. Sarı, who listed the names of the mayors one by one, argued that they had stolen the people's votes.
In his statement, Sarı included Vahap Akay, Onur Emrah Yıldız, Halil Öztürk, Görbil Özcan, and Aydın Dinçer, reminding that these individuals were elected with votes cast for the CHP. Describing the transition process as a "political trick," Sarı used the following expressions:
"They entered the election as CHP candidates and were elected mayors with the votes cast for the CHP. Today, they are wearing AKP badges. These people have officially stolen the people's votes. The badge they wear on their lapels is a sign of this vote theft. The AKP, unable to win the citizens' votes, has found the solution in political tricks. However, this situation compromises the will of the voter and deals a heavy blow to democracy. Everyone who causes the nation to lose faith in elections will pay a heavy political price for this."
"Are you not even blushing?"
Stating that the current political landscape is different from the will expressed by voters at the ballot box, Sarı also criticized the CHP administrators of the period who nominated these individuals. Sarı concluded his statement with the following questions directed at the administrators of that period:
"We asked the administrators of that period before, and today we ask once again: Who nominated these names? Who provided references? As a result of which evaluations did they become CHP mayoral candidates? Do you not intend to engage in self-criticism? Are you not even blushing?"
