In his post evaluating the appointment decisions bearing the signature of AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan, Günaydın made criticisms regarding the assignments of İbrahim Ömer Gönül, who was dismissed.
YENI Party's Günaydın used the following expressions in his assessment:
"İbrahim Ömer Gönül, who was the Chairman of the Capital Markets Board (SPK) between 2022 and 2026, was appointed as the Chairman of the Public Oversight, Accounting and Auditing Standards Authority on May 8, 2026, two days after his term expired on May 6.
Although it was a quite 'interesting' appointment for an administrator who brought the SPK to this state, another piece of the 'let no one be left without a seat, let the order of loyalty and prosperity with seats continue' mentality had been put in place.
In my previous X post, I touched upon the absurdity of this situation and said, 'If anyone can do it, the AKP can.'
With the Presidential decree published a short while ago, Gönül was removed from the position he was appointed to on May 8, 5.5 months later, on October 20.
The Presidential decree regarding the dismissal of the latest SPK Chairman Sütçü, whose resignation was shared with the press in the evening, was also published in the Official Gazette.
Well, after all, in the 'my person' government system, no one can resign; at most, they can request to be pardoned from their duty.
In short, let us remind you here: You cannot get out of this by sacrificing bureaucrats."
