Cut through the fence and entered: Male student alarm at a girls' dormitory in Sivas
A male student identified as M.Y., who allegedly entered the Binali Yıldırım Girls' Dormitory at Sivas Cumhuriyet University by climbing over the fences, fled after being confronted by female students. Following a report regarding the incident, police teams took action. After reviewing security camera footage, M.Y.'s identity was determined and he was apprehended.
According to the information obtained, a male student named M.Y. entered the Binali Yıldırım Girls' Dormitory located within Sivas Cumhuriyet University yesterday evening. M.Y., who allegedly entered the girls' dormitory by cutting through the fences, fled following the reaction of female students on campus.
In a statement regarding the incident, the Sivas Governor's Office said, "Upon receiving a report that a suspicious male individual was seen inside the Binali Yıldırım KYK campus in our city center on Saturday, October 5, at approximately 22:30, our Provincial Police Department teams immediately launched an investigation.
All camera recordings within and around the campus were examined, and the investigation determined that a suspicious male individual entered the dormitory complex from the rear area by damaging the wire fences and was walking around the garden area while talking on his phone. It was determined that the individual, who was later noticed by students, fled and moved away from the area he came from at approximately 22:50 before private security guards arrived after being notified.
Interviews and investigations revealed that the suspect had no contact with any students inside, and no complaints or grievances have been reported to date. As a result of detailed work carried out by the Public Security Branch of the Provincial Police Department, the individual named M.Y. was apprehended, and the necessary legal proceedings have been initiated against him. Our law enforcement units will continue to be on duty 24/7 across our province, as always, to ensure the peace and safety of our students, who are entrusted to us by their families."
