Cyberattack on T24: Hackers post article under Hasan Cemal's name claiming 'Erdoğan is giving away Bitcoin'
Hackers who infiltrated the T24 website published a fraudulent article during the night claiming that President and AKP Chairman Erdoğan was giving away Bitcoin. In a statement, T24 said, "We would like to share that security measures are undergoing a comprehensive review due to the fake content, which has since been removed, and we apologize."
An article was published under the byline of T24 columnist Hasan Cemal with the headline “Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is now giving away Bitcoin for the next 24 hours!”
The article included a Bitcoin wallet address along with the text: “Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is now giving away Bitcoin for the next 24 hours; the amount you send will double, from 1,000 TL to 1,000,000 TL! Only once per address.”

The following statement was issued by T24:
"On the morning of Thursday, September 5, 2024, hackers who infiltrated the T24 editor panel published a fake text under the byline of our columnist Hasan Cemal claiming that 'Erdoğan is giving double the Bitcoin you send.' We would like to share that security measures are undergoing a comprehensive review due to the fake content, which has since been removed, and we apologize."
