Damage assessment work completed: Murat Kurum announces the toll of the Sındırgı earthquake

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum shared the results of the damage assessment work carried out following the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Sındırgı on October 27 with the public.

Minister Kurum stated that the damage assessment work carried out in a total of 32 thousand independent units has been completed, saying, "We have determined that a total of 760 independent sections are damaged, 607 of which are residences and 93 of which are workplaces."

'DAMAGE IDENTIFIED IN 760 INDEPENDENT SECTIONS'

Murat Kurum included the following statements in his announcement:

“Following the Sındırgı earthquake, we re-scanned all structures and completed our damage assessment work, which we initiated in 32 thousand independent units.

We have determined that a total of 760 independent sections are damaged, 607 of which are residences and 93 of which are workplaces.

Our citizens should not be concerned. We will quickly begin our work and heal the wounds. We will also rapidly complete the construction of the 531 residences for which we laid the foundations one month after the first earthquake.”
