Dams in Istanbul are sounding the alarm! Water levels have dropped
Insufficient rainfall in Istanbul in recent weeks has caused water levels in dams to drop. According to İSKİ data, the average occupancy rate, which was 82.93% on April 22, fell to 78.97% on May 18. The highest occupancy rate was recorded at the Elmalı Dam, while the lowest was recorded at the Istrancalar Dam.
Water levels in Istanbul's dams have begun to decline due to insufficient rainfall in recent days. According to data from the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ), the average occupancy rate of the dams, which was 82.93 percent on April 22, fell to 78.97 percent as of May 18.
Among the 10 dams providing drinking water to Istanbul, the highest occupancy rate was measured at the Elmalı Dam at 93.37 percent, while the lowest rate was recorded at the Istrancalar Dam at 45.87 percent.

According to İSKİ data, the occupancy rates of dams in Istanbul as of May 18 are as follows:
Elmalı Dam: 93.37%
Ömerli Dam: 91.27%
Kazandere Dam: 89.49%
Pabuçdere Dam: 88.75%
Darlık Dam: 81.54%
Terkos Dam: 79.17%
Büyükçekmece Dam: 69.58%
Alibey Dam: 58.73%
Sazlıdere Dam: 57.56%
Istrancalar Dam: 45.87%
