Date set for Mahmoud Abbas's visit to Turkey

Communications Director Fahrettin Altun announced that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will visit Turkey. Abbas will also deliver a speech at the Parliament.

In a post on his social media account, Altun stated the following:

"Palestinian President Mr. Mahmoud Abbas will pay a visit to our country on August 14-15. Mr. Abbas, who will meet with our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Wednesday, August 14, will address the General Assembly of our glorious Parliament on Thursday, August 15."

ERDOĞAN HAD SAID 'HE SHOULD APOLOGIZE'

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had previously addressed claims that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was not invited to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, stating: "Abbas, who did not come despite our invitation, needs to apologize to us. We invited him, but he did not come. We are waiting; will he be able to come? Whether he comes or not, we are voicing what needs to be said on behalf of our Palestinian brothers everywhere. As we see those who applaud the murderers of 40,000 innocent people, we worry not only for humanity but also for our own future."
