Date set for Nasuh Mahruki's July 15 trial
Former AKUT president Nasuh Mahruki will present his defense at the Bakırköy Courthouse on September 16 regarding his social media posts about the July 15 coup attempt.
The date has been set for Nasuh Mahruki to appear in court following a lawsuit filed against him over his social media posts regarding the July 15 coup attempt.
Mahruki, the former president of the Search and Rescue Association (AKUT), will present his defense at a hearing to be held at the Bakırköy Courthouse on Wednesday, September 16, at 14:00, on charges of "publicly inciting hatred and enmity."
REASON FOR THE LAWSUIT
It was stated that the lawsuit was filed as part of an investigation launched into posts Mahruki made on his social media account regarding the July 15 coup attempt.
In one of the posts mentioned in the case file, Mahruki had claimed that the July 15 attempt was noticed in advance, was seen as an "opportunity for a regime change," and that the uprising was allowed to proceed in a controlled manner.
