Date set for Sözcü TV: 10-day blackout
RTÜK has imposed a 10-day broadcast suspension on Sözcü TV, citing its coverage during the investigation into Ekrem İmamoğlu, the CHP's presidential candidate, arrested President of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye, and Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has issued a series of penalties regarding broadcasts related to the investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
Sözcü TV has been handed a 10-day screen blackout penalty.
This 10-day broadcast suspension is the most severe penalty before license revocation.
Following the notification of the decision to Sözcü TV, the blackout will begin as of June 1.
